Friday Recap: Luther traveled to Cedar Rapids, Iowa for the first of three-games against Coe College this afternoon. Trailing 3-0 entering the bottom of the ninth, the Kohawks scored four runs on four hits and secured a 4-3 come-from-behind victory.
Luther scored twice in the sixth and added what looked like an insurance run in the eighth, but could not hold the Kohawks scoreless for a ninth frame.
In the sixth, an error by the Kohawks followed by a two-run home run off the bat of
Gavin Scurr gave the Norse a 2-0 lead. The Norse added another run with a bases loaded infield out in the ninth.
Kaleb Thiesse was cruising along but ran into trouble in the ninth, allowing a double and walk that knocked him off the mound.
Blake Jondle and
Zach Gwost were call upon to secure the win, but Jondle gave up a double that tied the game and Gwost allowed a single that proved to be the game winning hit.

Saturday Recap: Saturday afternoon the two teams split, with Coe winning game two of the series 9-8 (10) and Luther winning game three (11-6).
Trailing 8-4 heading into the top of the ninth, Luther sent today's first game into extra frames scoring four runs on four hits.
Mark Prince hit his second home run of the game, a two-run shot to left field.
Noah Dutler followed with a solo shot to the same part of the park.
Zach Gwost drove in the game tying run with a single to left.
In the 10th Luther had the basses loaded with one out and were held scoreless. Coe won the game with a two-out, walk-off home run to center field.

Mark Prince led the offensive attack with four RBI. Prince, Josh Matanich,
Noah Dutler all had three hits, while
Gavin Scurr had two.

In the nightcap, Luther scored 11 runs on 10 hits. The Norse scored three in the first, two in the third, five in the fifth and one in the sixth en route to the victory.

Will Heithoff all had two RBI.
Charles Running was credited with the win, throwing 5.2 innings, allowing six runs on 10 hits, walking two and striking out one.
Luther completed the weekend with a league record of (2-8), 6-17 overall. The Norse will host Wartburg College on Tuesday, April 8, for a double header that begins at 1 p.m.
