DECORAH, Iowa - The Luther softball team snapped a three-game losing streak with a sweep of Buena Vista 6-0 and 8-0 in six innings. The Norse out hit the Beavers 17-5 improving their record to 22-16 overall and 7-7 in the American Rivers Conference.
Game 1: Luther 6, Buena Vista 0
Olivia Engler pitched a two hit shutout while striking out seven batters and allowed one walk in 24 batters faced. This is her first shutout this season and 14th complete game. Offensively,
Raven Allen was credited with two rbi while
Madi Elwood,
Mya Larsen and
Avery Nehring all drove in a run.
Game 2: Luther 8, Buena Vista 0 (6 innings)
In the bottom of the sixth with bases loaded Allen hit the game winning single driving in Nehring. Allen finished the game 3-for-4 with two runs, two stolen bases.
Chloe Wagner was 2-for-3 with her first career triple, one run and three rbi.
Alexa Stevermer won her ninth game in the circle pitching five innings allowing three hits, two walks and recorded six strikeouts.
Isabelle Staton pitched one inning in relief where she struck out two in three batters faced.
At the conclusion of the doubleheader, Luther honored the 2025 senior class of
Jerrianne Dannenmueller,
Olivia Engler,
Delaney Martinez-Wilson, and
Riley Sauser.
