Jones, Strum, Hosking and Beaver Named All-Conference

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – With the conclusion of the women's basketball season the American Rivers Conference announced the 2024-25 all-conference teams. The Norse had four honorees including first team selections Kailey Jones and Haylie Strum and second team honors went to Kate Hosking and Natalie Beaver. The A-R-C also handed out the first Rookie of the Year award which went to Beaver. All four players started in every conference game this season.

Jones becomes just the second player in program history to be a four-time all-conference selection. She was fifth in the nation with double doubles with 48 total in her career and 18 this season, third in defensive rebounds per game, fifth in total rebounds and 10th in rebounds per game. Within the conference she was first in rebounds (345), second in free throw percentage (82.3), fourth in field goal percentage (55.3) and fifth in scoring (424 points). Jones is also the first 1,000 / 1,000 player in program history. Jones also re-wrote the record books becoming the all-time leader in career rebounds (1,144), first in free throw percentage (84.1), third in field goal attempts (1132), fourth in field goals (562), and fifth in career points (1,399).

Strum earns her second all-conference nod and played in 26 games. A season ago she was a second-team all-conference honoree. She finished the season with 426 points including a career high of 32 against Rockford University on Dec. 31. Among the lead she ranked first in assists (157), third in scoring (426), field goal percentage (55.8 percent), third in steals (72), and sixth in blocked shots (24). Nationally, she ranked third in assists and assists per game.

This is Hosking's first all-conference honors of her career as she was named to the second team. She averaged 10.5 points per game scoring 283. Hosking was second in the conference for blocked shots with 40 and moved into sixth all-time with 97 in her career.

In her first season with the Norse, Beaver was third on the team in points with 327 and recorded 178 rebounds which ranked 10th in the conference. She was also eighth in the league with 20 blocked shots. In conference games she averaged 13.9 points per game along with 6.3 rebounds per game. She earned second team all-conference honors. 

The team finished the 2024-25 season with an overall record of 18-9 and was fourth in the league with a record of 10-6.
