CLERMONT, Fla. - The Luther softball team beat Oberlin College 4-3 in walk-off fashion and Union College 8-2 improving to a 12-8 overall record.
Game 1: Oberlin 3, Luther 4
Luther had a 2-0 lead after two complete innings with rbi from
Mya Larsen and
Jordan Torrez. Oberlin added a pair of lone runs in the top of the third and fifth innings to tie the game. Then in the top of the seventh the Yeowomen took their first lead of the game with an rbi single. With the bases loaded for the Norse,
Avery Nehring reached on an error by the shortstop giving time for Larsen and
Raven Allen to score.
Alexa Stevermer got the win in the circle and she is now 5-1 on the season.
Isabelle Staton pitched five innings. Allen was 3-4 with two runs.
Game 2: Luther 8, Union 2
The Norse out hit the Chargers 11-5 in the second game of the day.
Riley Sauser was 3-4 with three rbi, one run and one double. Larsen was also strong at the plate finishing the game 2-4 with three runs, two rbi and her second career triple.
On the mound,
Olivia Engler had eight strikeouts, two walks and gave up one run.
