INDIANOLA, Iowa - The Luther men's basketball team won their first American Rivers Conference game of the season defeating the Simpson College Storm. The Norse had the lead for 34 minutes of the game while shooting 45.7 percent (21-46) from the floor and 40.9 percent (9-22) from beyond the arc.
Luther scored 11 straight points to head into halftime with a 27-19 lead. Simpson cut down Luther's advantage in the second half to one (33-32) at 14:01 but the Norse quickly rebuilt a lead as large as 19 with 2:51 remaining in the game. This was the largest victory for Luther this season.
Jeremy Andera led all scorers with 17 points for a season high. Setting a career high was
Charlie Wunderlich with 16 points and was one shy of a double-double with nine rebounds.
Matthew Franzen recorded 12 points and
Mikkel Schutte tallied 10.
Will Bockenstedt led the rebounding core with 11 total.
Luther improves to 2-19 overall and 1-12 in conference while Simpson falls 5-17 overall and 2-11 in the A-R-C.
