DECORAH, Iowa - The Luther women's basketball team lost to the University of Dubuque 73-67. The lead changed six times in the first quarter alone before the Spartans would claim the lead for the rest of the game. Offensively, Dubuque went into high gear building a lead as large as 21 (40-19) and went into the locker room with a 44-29 advantage. The Norse played better in the second half outscoring the Spartans 38-29 and
Kailey Jones scored 15 of her 23 in the final two frames.
Jones recorded her 13th double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds for her third straight.
Haylie Strum followed with 19 points and eight assists.
Natalie Beaver tallied nine points, nine rebounds and four blocks.
Luther drops to 14-7 overall and 7-5 in ther American Rivers Conference (A-R-C).
Dubuque improves to 9-11 overall and 6-5 in the A-R-C. The Spartans had four players reach double digits including Samantha McDonald (14), Mia Miller (14), Madi Petersen (12) and Morgan Hawkins (12).
