DECOARH, Iowa - The Luther women's basketball team advanced to the American Rivers Conference Tournament Semifinals with a 69-53 win over the University of Dubuque in the first round. The Norse were led by
Haylie Strum with 19 points as she went 8-17 from the floor.
Kailey Jones extended her double-double streak to eight games and her 18th total this season with 16 points and 14 rebounds.
Kate Hosking contributed 13 points. Luther is now 18-8 overall.
Luther outscored Dubuque in every quarter of the game holding the lead for 34 minutes. They also edged the Spartans in rebounds (33-32), points in the paint (38-34), points off turnovers (19-12), assists (16-6), and steals (11-8).
This will be the first tournament semifinals appearance for the Norse since the 2019-20 season.
The Spartans finish the season at 10-16 overall. They were led by Samantha McDonald with 19 points.
