The Luther baseball team made its first ever trip to the University of Redlands located in Redlands, Calif., for a three-game series. On Friday, Feb. 14 the two teams played a single game, and played a double header, on Saturday. All three games were played at The Yard, the Bulldogs home field. Redlands finished the weekend series with an overall record of 6-1 after sweeping Luther 10-8, 8-7 and 5-3.
Game One Recap:
In the series opener, Redlands defeated the Norse 10-8. Luther scored two in the first, three in the second, one in the fourth and two in the ninth. Redlands tallied four runs in the first frame, scored one in the second, third and sixth frames, and scored the game winner in the three run eighth.

Noah Pinette all drove in two runs. Matanich finished the night 4-for-5 at the plate. Pinette,
Will Heithoff and
Garren Heinert all had two hits. Kindem hit a two-run home run in the first and Matanich did the same in the ninth.

Game Two Recap:
The Norse jumped out to a 5-1 lead after six, but gave up five in the bottom of the seventh and trailed the Bulldogs 6-5. The Norse responded with two more in the eighth, but two doubles and a single by the Bulldogs in the ninth led to two runs, that secure the come-from-behind victory.
Ike Swanson and Will Hiethoff were both credited with two RBI, while
Zach Gwost, Noah Pinnette both had one. Josh Matanich,
Mark Prince and Heitoff all had two hits.

Redlands scored four runs in the second and one in the fifth en route to the 5-3 victory.
Mark Prince homered to left in the seventh and
Garren Heinert drove in two runs on a single down the left field line in the ninth.

Luther will return to action on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 22 and 23, when they will travel to Leavenworth, Kansas and the University of Mary. The Norse will face Augustana College (IL) for two games on Saturday and one game on Sunday. Both days start at 11 a.m.
