NEW ULM, Minn. – In a midweek non-conference game, the Luther women's basketball team defeated Martin Luther 75-60. The Norse outscored the Knights in three of the four quarters improving to 5-3 overall.
The Norse led most of the statistical categories including rebounds (42-24) steals (12-10), points in the paint (36-22), points off turnovers (23-17), bench points (17-1). Luther shot 45.3 percent from the field.
Natalie Beaver led all scorers with 21 points, nine rebounds and a team best six steals.
Haylie Strum followed with 17 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists. Strum has scored 10 or more points in every game this season. Nine Luther athletes scored in the contest.
Martin Luther's leading scorer was Mya Morris with 24 points as they fall to 6-4 overall.
Luther returns to court on Saturday, Dec. 13 facing Cornell at 2 p.m. in Decorah.
