DECORAH, Iowa – The Luther women's basketball team fell to Cornell 73-68. The Norse rallied late in the fourth quarter with 52 seconds left trailing by four (69-65) after
Natalie Beaver scored in the paint. However, the Rams were able to hold off the Norse to win the game.
Cornell shot 44.9 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from the three-point line. The Rams leading scorer Erin Knowles scored 25 points.
Luther out rebounded Cornell 43-32 and shot 32.2 percent in the game.
Haylie Strum recorded 20 points to lead the team along with nine rebounds, five assists and five steals.
Natalie Beaver followed with 19 points.
Abigail Panka tallied a double-double with 12 rebounds and 11 points marking her first in her career.
Strum moved into sixth all-time in career assists (295) and now ranks 10th all-time in career steals (165).
Next season the two teams with be conference opponents in the Midwest Conference.
