DECORAH, Iowa - The Luther women's basketball team defeated the University of Northwestern (MN) 94-68 behind double figure performances from
Natalie Beaver,
Abigail Panka,
Haylie Strum,
Katie Hardtke and Lexie Thomas. The Norse out scored the Eagles in every quarter. In the third quarter, Luther scored 30 points for their most in a single quarter this season.
Luther collected 42 rebounds compared to 28 by Northwestern. The Norse scored 18 points off turnovers, 46 in the paint and 33 came from the bench.
Beaver recorded her second straight double double leading the team with 21 points and 14 rebounds along with four steals. Panka followed with 15 points, followed by Sturm with 13, Hardtke with 11 and Thomas had 10.
The Norse are now 3-2 overall while Northwestern drops to 0-6.
Up next Luther will open the American Rivers Conference season at Wartburg on Wednesday, Dec. 3 with tipoff at 5:30 p.m. in Waverly, Iowa.
