DECORAH, Iowa — Riley Anderson scored the game winning goal in the 20th minute as Luther (7-7-2, 3-3-1 A-R-C) defeated Nebraska Wesleyan (3-7-5, 1-4-2 A-R-C) 1-0 on senior day.
Goalkeepers
Elisabeth Queoff and Jena Schultz of the Prairie Wolves were tested early in the opening 15 minutes of the game. Both faced two shots and made two saves.
Luther broke the deadlock in the 20th minute.
Kate Van Deventer sent in a cross off the corner kick flag.
Riley Anderson got up in the air and knocked it into the back of the net with her head giving the Norse the 1-0 lead. This was her first goal of the season.
In the second half, Luther looked to extend their lead but shots by Van Deventer,
Allison Dobbins and
Lauren Linkletter were stopped by Schultz and the Prairie Wolves defense.
This was Queoff's sixth shutout of the season. She also made three saves.
Luther also honored the 2025 senior class of Queoff, Linkletter, Dobbins,
Lauryn Larson and
Mary Kitundu.
The final game of the regular season will be on Tuesday, Oct. 28 as Luther hosts Wartburg at 5 p.m. in Decorah, Iowa.
