Luther Defeated by Simpson 36-6

It was a beautiful afternoon in the valley for the 84th and final match-up between Simpson and Luther as conference opponents on Saturday. This series began in 1924 and following today's outcome, the Storm had defeated the Norse for a second consecutive year, but the Norse still held a 45-37-1 advantage overall. Next year, Luther will become the newest member of the Midwest Conference.

Explosive plays proved to be the difference this afternoon as the Storm posted a 36-3 victory. Simpson quarterback Jayden Thoreson missed just four targets all afternoon, connecting on 30-of-34 attempts, for 450 yards and four touchdowns. Noah Cracraft was on the end of all four touchdown passes that went for distances of  32, 38, 40 and 21 yards.

Sean Medcalfe kicked a 44-yard field goal with 44 seconds remaining in the second quarter for the only points of the afternoon for the Norse.

Defensively, the Storm held the Norse to 219 yards of total offense, and did not allow them to reach the red zone.

Bryce Buckley led the rushing attack with 35 yards on five carries, while Aiden Damiani led all receivers with seven catches for 65 yards. Christian Hiner finished the day 14-of-34 for 137 yards and connected with five different receivers.

Cody Rieder and Tyler Ragan collected a game high 11 tackles each. Ryan Hilby was next with nine.

Box Score
