WAVERLY, Iowa - The Luther women's basketball team lost to #11 nationally ranked Wartburg 75-64 on the road. The Norse couldn't erase the early deficit falling behind 32-22 at halftime. The second half went better for Luther due to a shooting percentage of 53.5 percent from the field (15-28) but it wouldn't be enough defeat the Knights. The Norse are now 13-6 overall and 6-4 in the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C).
The Knights held several aspects of the game, rebounds (33-28), points off turnovers (26-13), points in the paint (40-28), and second chance points (20-11).
For the game Luther shot 47.1 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from the arc and 81.8 at the free throw line.
Haylie Strum lead all scorers with 26 points for her second straight game with 20-plus points.
Kailey Jones recorded her 11th double-double of the season with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Defensively
Kate Hosking had four steals and two blocks.
Wartburg is 17-2 overall and 10-0 in the A-R-C.
