PELLA, Iowa - The Luther men's basketball team nearly found their first American Rivers Conference win of the season but fell in a heartbreaking loss 76-73 to Central. The Norse were down by 10 points four times in the second half but whittled down the lead to one after
Will Bockenstedt knocked down a three-pointer with seven seconds to go (73-74). However, the Dutch were able to hold on to secure the win.
Mikkel Schutte led the team in points with 19 and also had nine rebounds
Will Bockenstedt was on rebound shy of a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.
Charlie Wunderlich had 12 points followed by
Aidan Bailey with 10.
Kaleb Brand was the leading scored for Central as they improve to 10-7 overall and 5-3 in the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C).
Luther is 1-15 overall and 0-8 in conference play.
