DECORAH, Iowa - The Luther men's soccer team fell to Macalester 3-2 on Sunday.
Francesco Mungari scored both goals for the Norse marking the first of his career.
Nico Cedeno recorded his first career assist. Luther is now 1-2-1 overall.
Macalester scored in the 6th and 33rd minute of the first half. As time was expiring just before halftime, Cedeno feed a through ball into box to
Francesco Mungari who put it into the back of the net for his first career goal. The Norse were now down by one at the break.
The Scots responded in the second half with a goal in the 47th minute to reclaim a two goal lead. Later in the 61st, Mungari scored for the second time in the game and once again he helped cut the lead to one.
Luther would get one final play after a foul was called on Macalester with just seven seconds to go. The Norse sent the ball into the box but the defense of the Scots held off the offensive threat as time expired.
Jack Bell made six saves. Luther had 15 shots with eight on goal.
