DECORAH, Iowa - Sarina Stortz celebrated a career milestone in the match against Bethel University recording her 1,000th career kill. Nearly everyone in the gym was keeping track until she achieved the feat. The volleyball team was swept by Augsburg (17-25, 10-25, 14-25) and Bethel University (16-25, 13-25, 14-25). The Norse are now 3-8 overall.
Coming into the matches Stortz was at 978, needing only 22 to cross 1,000 in her career. In the first match she recorded 11 kills so it would take until the second match to achieve the career milestone.
Emma Kowalczyk recorded 22 assists.
In the third set against Bethel, the Royals were leading 10-5.Â
Kyah Olson-Sola would set up the career making moment for Stortz as she took a swing from the back row. Her teammates on the bench and those on the court with her took a moment to celebrate it. Olson-Sola would register 11 digs in the match.Â
