Norse End Scoreless Streak In 2-2 Draw With Warhawks

WHITEWATER, Wis. - On Tuesday night, the Luther women's soccer team ended their scoreless streak by scoring two goals late in the second half to tie UW-Whitewater 2-2. Megan Miller and Elisa Millan both scored their first career goals. Miller scored in the 84th followed by Millan in the 87th. The Norse are now 0-4-1 overall.

The Warhawks scored their first goal in the 15th minute for a 1-0 advantage at the break.

In the second half, UW-Whitewater doubled their lead with a goal in the 67th minute. Then the Norse went on the offensive. Riley Anderson crossed the ball forward to Sofia Biedermann who passed it Miller who was waiting at the top of the box. All Miller needed was one touch to send it into the back of the net in the 84th minute. Luther was trailing by one with six minutes to play. Both Anderson and Biedermann would be credited with assists.

Later in the 87th, the Warhawk goalie came off her line to take on Biedermann but in an attempt to take the ball away missed as the Norse pressed on. After several deflections the ball landed to the feet of Milan who slotted it to the low near post to tie the game at 2-2.

UW-Whitewater threatened late but the Luther defense held on.

This is the first draw of the season for Luther.

The Warhawks had 23 shots compared to just nine from the Norse.
