Collis Scores Career High In Loss To Coe

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Luther men's basketball team fell to Coe 76-54 on Wednesday. Jake Collis scored a career high 14 points in the game. Overall Luther is 7-16 and 2-12 in the American Rivers Conference. 

The home team went up by two just thirty seconds into the game but Andrew Lazibat answered with a jumper for the Norse. Later at 14:06, Luke Prendergast tied the game at 10 with his layup in the paint. As the half continued neither team could build a lead larger than two. Then with 7:48 until halftime, Daniel Webster knotted the game at 21. The Kohawks then proceeded on a 9-0 run before Webster stopped the bleeding with a three of his own. In the final 1:47, Coe went on a 5-3 run to take a 37-30 lead into the locker room. There were twelve lead changes and three ties in the first half.

Collis scored five points to open the second half to cut the Kohawks lead to two with 17:41 to play. Although it didn't take long for Coe to build their advantage to double digits. Jeremy Andrea scored inside the lane at 13:36 keeping the Coe lead to 10 down 49-39. The Kohawks kept driving up their lead to defeat the Norse 76-54. Coe shot 50 percent from the field in the half. 

Coe is 19-3 overall and 11-2 in the A-R-C. 

Luther was slightly better beyond the arc than Coe shooting 37.5 percent compared to 36.8.
