DECORAH, Iowa - The Luther men's basketball team lost to Loras 86-54 on Wednesday.
Aidan Bailey tallied 17 points leading the Norse scorers. With the loss Luther is 7-17 overall and 2-13 in the American Rivers Conference.
In the first five minutes of the first half, the Norse kept within striking distance of the Duhawks lead. At 15:13,
Tim Mewborn would get the layup and free throw for the three point play down 12-7. Then Loras went on a 13-0 run which stopped when Bailey hit a three with 9:57 to go before halftime. The Duhawks kept driving up their point total for a 43-18 advantage heading into the locker room. Loras shot 55.2 percent from the floor in the opening half.
Out of the break, Loras went on 9-2 run to start the second half. Then the two teams traded points in the 7-4 exchange in favor of the Norse with
Andrew Lazinbat scoring all of them. The Duhawks continued to add to their total as the game went on. With 4:47 left,
Jeremy Andera scored in the paint helping the Norse go on a 11-point run putting the Norse down 83-53. Loras picked up the 86-54 win.
Loras is 20-4 overall and 11-4 in the A-R-C.
Luther had three blocks compared to one by Loras. The Norse also edged the Duhawks in rebounds 40-39.

- Ben Gill led the Norse in rebounds with eight. He also had six points.
- Ayden Hursky scored his first career point.
