The women's basketball team leveled its American Rivers Conference record to 1-1 after posting a 64-51 road victory over the University of Dubuque. The Norse led the Spartans all but 3:22 of this game, leading 29-21 at halftime and outscoring Dubuque 35-30 in the final two frames.
The Norse shot 41 percent (23-56) that included a 10-for-32 performance from behind the arc. The Norse dominated the boards out rebounding the Spartans 50-31.
Kailey Jones led all rebounders with 20.
Kate Hosking led the Norse offensive attack with 17 points.
Haylie Strum also tallied double digits with 14 and dished out a game high four assists. Jones was credited with eight points and
Natalie Beaver was next with seven.
The Spartans were led by Samantha McDonald with a game high 18 points. Brynn Haas also scored double figures with 12.
The win gives Luther an overall record of 5-1. Dubuque fell to 0-1 in league play, 1-5 overall.
