Jones Breaks Career Rebounds Record In Norse Road Win Over Nebraska Wesleyan 63-47

LINCOLN, Neb. – Kailey Jones surpassed Kari Tufte's 878 rebounds to become the program's all-time leader in career rebounds. Coming into the contest she only needed two to break the school record which she accomplished just 40 seconds into the game. The Luther women's basketball team improved to 2-1 in the American Rivers Conference and 6-1 overall with the 63-47 win.
 
The Norse offense was led by Natalie Beaver with 19 points. Jones finished with a double-double with 16 points and 21 rebounds. To date Jones has 898 rebounds in her career. Haylie Strum had a team leading seven assists and scored 11 points.
 
The Prairie Wolves had the lead for the first six minutes of the contest before the Norse took over at 14-13 with 2:34 remaining in the first quarter. Luther held the lead for the rest of the game.
 
Nebraska Wesleyan dropped to 0-8 overall and 0-1 in the A-R-C.
