WINONA, Minn. - The Luther women's basketball team is still unbeaten at 4-0 to start the season after a 90-59 victory over St. Mary's (MN).
Kailey Jones posted her fourth straight double-double with 22 points and 15 rebounds.
Haylie Strum had 18 points for a season high along with a team leading six assists.
Natalie Beaver followed with 15 points.
Beaver scored on the very first drive of the game with a jump shot. The game was only tied twice in the first quarter once at 2-2 and again at 5-5 before Sturm put Luther back out in front. The Norse held onto the lead for the rest of the game.
The Norse scored 42 points in the paint and the team had 40 rebounds compared to 29 by the Cardinals.
St. Mary's only out-scored the Norse in the second quarter 21-19 as they dropped to 2-2 overall.
In the 16 quarters played this season the Norse have scored 20 points or more in 11 of them.
