Raul Ferrandez scored in the second half as the Luther men's soccer team defeated Simpson on Wednesday 2-0. The Norse are now 3-0 in the American Rivers Conference and they are 5-3-4 overall. Goalkeeper
Jack Bell recorded his second shutout of the season.
In the 61st minute,
Nico Cedeno threaded it through to Manzanet who was making a run towards the far post knocking it into the back of the net. This was the first goal of the season for Manzanet.
The Norse kept up the offensive pressure and found their second goal of the game. Ferrandez drilled it to the upper left corner for a 2-0 Luther advantage.
Simpson tried to get on back late but the Luther defense held strong.
Luther improved to 3-0 in conference play. The Norse out shot the Storm 15-5.
Simpson is now 4-6-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the A-R-C.
