WAVERLY, Iowa - The Luther men's soccer team fell to Wartburg 3-2 on Saturday.
Enzo Mitidieri and
Javier Pastor Valls scored goals for the Norse. Luther is 5-4-4 overall and 3-1 in the American Rivers Conference.
The Knights were the first to score in the 14th minute but the Norse would answer late in the first half.
Hernan Manzanet passed the ball low across the box then
Ethan Ducklow got a touch on it who dumped it off for Mitidieri who scored to tie the score at 1-1.
Wartburg regained the lead in the 68th minute but once again Luther had a response. The Knights committed a foul in the box giving way to a penalty kick for the Norse. Pastor was the one who take it scoring his eighth goal of the season. He has scored a goal in three of the four A-R-C games played in 2024.
In the 82nd minute, the Knights scored in route to defeat the Norse 3-2.
Luther out shot Wartbrug 16-12.
The Knights are 6-3-3 overall and 3-1 in the A-R-C.
