DUBUQUE, Iowa - Javier Pastor Valls scored a twice as the Luther men's soccer team played to a 3-3 draw with Loras tonight in the Rock Bowl. Raul Ferrandez also recorded his sixth goal of the season in the contest. 

The Duhawks struck early in the fourth minute, but the Norse rallied with two back-to-back goals from Ferrandez in the 28th and Pastor in the 34th minutes, that gave the Norse a 2-1 advantage at halftime. 

In the second frame, Loras tied the game at 2-2 in the 76th minute, but just 40 seconds later Pastor scored his second goal fo the game. This was Pastor's third multi-goal game of the season, and his 11 goals is not only a team best but also marks a new single season career best. The Duhawks answered with the equalizer in the 82nd minute. Nico Cedeno also tallied a multiple point evening as he was credited with two assists.

In the final two minutes, Loras threatened again, but Jack Bell was able to make the save. Both teams earned a point for the conference standings. 

The Norse out shot the Duhawks 21-12 with 13 shots on goal. The Duhawks placed just five shots on goal.  

The Norse are 7-4-5 overall and 5-1-1 in the American Rivers Conference and sit atop the league standings with 16 points with one match remaining on the regular season schedule. Loras fell to fourth place in the league standings and is now 7-4-7 overall and 3-1-2 in the A-R-C with 11 points. Wartburg (7-4-4, 4-2-0) and Nebraska Wesleyan (9-6-0, 4-3-0) are tied for second place with 12 points.

In the latest United Soccer Coaches Region IX poll released Tuesday, Oct. 22, the Norse are ranked No. 6.
