DECORAH, Iowa - The Luther volleyball team won its first American Rivers Conference match of the season 3-1 over Buena Vista (24-26, 25-17, 25-23, 25-22). The Norse offense had three players record double digit kills including
Sarina Stortz (16),
Ruby Gerhard (12) and
Annika Franzen (11). Luther is now 5-15 overall and 1-2 in the A-R-C.
After narrowly dropping the first set 24-26, Luther won the next three straight sets.
In the second set the Norse had a .379 hitting percentage and limited the Beavers to -.033.
Emma Kowalczyk had 44 assists. This was the third time this season she has recorded 40-plus assists in a match.
Defensivley,
Kyah Olson-Sola lead the team 14 digs followed by
Karoline Tiu who had 12.
Franzen had a season high registering 11 kills.
The Norse hit .309 for the match.
Buena Vista drops to 5-14 overall and 0-2 in the A-R-C.
