DECORAH, Iowa – The Luther women's soccer team tied 1-1 with Nebraska Wesleyan in the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) home opener. The Prairie Wolves scored first in the 64th minute but the Norse answered back in the 75th with
Riley Anderson scoring her first collegiate goal. Luther is 2-3-4 overall and 0-0-1 in A-R-C play.
Another scoreless opening half led to all the action in the final forty-five minutes of play. In the 64th minute Nebraska Wesleyan got on the board after squeaking in behind the defense. However, there was still plenty of time for Luther to find the equalizer despite being down by a goal.
The Norse started moving the ball through the midfield. The players connected on their passes moving further down the field. Then
Maggie Haller passed it across the box where it took several deflections including off of
Cassiah James. The ball continued to stay in play bouncing towards
Riley Anderson who was waiting on the far post to punch it in. She did just that scoring her first goal of the season in the 75th minute to tie the game at 1-1.
The Norse offense tried to win the game late but they were unable to do so. Which meant that this game would end in a 1-1 draw. Luther is now 2-3-4 overall and 0-0-1 in A-R-C.
