Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Norse stumble at Loras

DUBUQUE, IOWA – Luther women's basketball team fell to the Duhawks 79-50. With the loss the Norse split the series with the Duhawks dropping to 12-11 overall and 7-7 in A-R-C with two games to go in the regular season.

NOT OUR NIGHT
Loras took advantage for the first lead of the game after converting on Luther's early turnovers. The Norse got their offense going with three-pointer from Jordan Rubie (Winona, Minn. / Cotter) taking a lead by four. However, the Duhawks responded well going on 12-0 run to close out the first quater leading the Norse 20-8.

Heading into the second quarter the Norse were just looking for anything to go as Loars continued to build on their lead. Luther caught a break with a three-pointer from Megan Miller (Urbandale, Iowa / Des Moines Christian) to finally get back on the board for the first time since scoring at 6:55 left in the first quarter. Once again, Loras was doing everything right to stay on top of the Norse adding another 21 points compared to Luther's 10. The Norse had some work to do if they were going to come back in this one down 41-18.

Coming out of the break Luther had a big hole to climb out of and it wasn't going to be easy. But it was another big quarter for the Duhwaks who added on another 21 points to their total. But at least the Norse grabbed two points more than they did in the first half with 12.

In the final quarter of play Luther played their best of the night outscoring the Loras 20-17. The Norse had their best numbers off the night going 6-10 from the field, 2-2 from beyond the arc and 6-8 from the line. But it wasn't going to be enough to complete the comeback. The Duhawks claim the victory 79-50 to split the season series.
