INDIANOLA, IOWA – The Luther men's soccer team extended their win streak to four with a 2-1 victory over the Storm.
Felipe Alvarez Casaro and
Ramzi Ouro-Akondo scored goals for the Norse while
Ricardo Crisanto had two assists. Luther is 5-3-3 overall and 3-0 in the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C).
The Norse struck early, as
Ricardo Crisanto kicked it towards the box knowing he had
Felipe Alvarez Casaro crashing in. The goalie knocked it away, but not for long as Casaro shot it into the back of the net. Luther took the lead in the 17
th minute and took the one goal lead into the break.
In the 65
th minute the Norse set up a corner kick opportunity. Crisanto crossed it in towards goal finding the head of
Ramzi Ouro-Akondo for the second goal of the game for Luther.
The Storm were awarded a penalty kick in the 87
th which they converted to pull within one goal with three minutes to play. The Norse held on to win 2-1 and stay unbeaten in A-R-C with a 3-0 record.
