The women's cross country team finished fifth this afternoon at the 2023 American Rivers Conference Championships. The 6K course was located on the Central College campus in Pella, Iowa. A total of 122 competitors completed the course with the top-20 finishers earning all-conference honors.
Wartburg College claimed its fifth consecutive league title posting 27 points. Central was second with 37, followed by Simpson with 92. Luther tallied 118, finishing two points behind fourth place Loras with 116.
Teah Miller led the Norse placing 13th, earning all-conference honors for the first time of her career. Miller crossed the finish line with a time of 23:03.2.
Completing the top-five scorers for the Norse included
Morgan Hansen (26th - 24:01.6),
Julia Veit (30th - 24:09.4),
Alyssa Blankenship (32nd - 24:11.7), and
Sarah Schmidt (41st - 24:30.1).
Lucy Corbin (44th - 24:32.5) and
Sarah Grams (51st - 24:42.3) rounded out the top-seven.

The next varsity race for the Norse will be the NCAA III Midwest Regional that will be hosted by Wartburg College on Saturday, Nov. 11. Start time is scheduled for Noon.
On Friday, Nov. 3, Luther will host the Saga Cup. Start time will be 5:00 p.m.
