DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Luther men's soccer team completed the regular season with a 1-0 loss to the University of Dubuque on Wednesday. The Spartans scored in the 86th minute. Despite the loss the Norse still are in the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Tournament as the No.4 seed. They will host the No.5 seed Simpson College on Saturday, October 28 in the first round. 

The first half the two teams were held scoreless. The Spartans recorded five shots. Jack Bell made two saves in goal for the Norse. 

Then in the second half both teams picked up the intensity. Luther had five shots compared to the six by Dubuque. In the 89th minute Jose Gimenez and Felipe Alvarez Casaro had back-to-back shots but the goalie for the Spartans was there to make the save. Dubuque picks up the 1-0 win over Luther.

The Norse are now 6-7-5 overall and finish the A-R-C regular season at 4-3-1.

Luther hosts Simpson on Saturday, October 28 for the first round of the A-R-C Tournament. A kickoff time is to be determined.
