CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Three Luther College athletes were named American Rivers Conference Athletes of the Week with Morgan Hansen and Justin Reinhart representing cross country and Mia Prater of the women's swimming and diving team earned the honors. All are receiving the award for the first time in their careers.

Justin Reinhart finished seventh overall in the 67^th cross country dual with the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on Friday, October 20. He crossed the finish line with a time of 16:06.7 in his first collegiate 5K and was 35 seconds behind the first-place finisher. This is his first time earning the men's cross country runner of the week award.

Morgan Hansen helped the Norse sweep cross country awards for the first time this season. She posted a sixth-place finish in the dual with UW-La Crosse with a time of 20:15.1. The time marks a new personal best in a 5K event. The senior wins the award for the first time in her career.

The cross country teams are in action at the American Rivers Conference Championship on Saturday, October 28. The race will be in Pella, Iowa with start times at 11 a.m. for the men and 12 p.m. for the women.

Representing the women's swimming and diving team, Mia Prater was named the performer of the week.  She won all three of her events on Saturday, October 21 in the double dual against Simpson and Nebraska Wesleyan. The Norse defeated the Storm 188-43 and the Prairie Wolves 173-64 to start the 2023-24 season.

In the 50-yard freestyle she recorded the fourth fastest time in school history with 24.21 and holds the sixth fastest time in the country. Prater also won the 100-yard freestyle posting a time of 53.34 ranking sixth all-time in program history and ninth in the country. She also helped the 200-yard relay win the event with a time of 1:52.91.

The swimming and diving teams compete at Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday, October 28 in St. Peter, Minnesota at 1 p.m.
