Luther traveled to Lincoln, Nebraska for an American Rivers Conference game against Nebraska Wesleyan University. The Prairie Wolves defeated the Norse 35-10.
Luther jumped out to an early 7-0 lead with 9:27 remaining in the first quarter, following a 66-yard touchdown pass from
Beau Cornwell to
Raul Medrano III. Medrano ended the afternoon with three receptions for 106 yards.
NWU responded with 21 unanswered points and led at halftime 21-7.
Sean Madcalfe pulled the Norse to within 11 thanks to a 28-yard field goal at the 10:10 mark of the third frame.
NWU completed the afternoon's scoring with touchdowns at 2:50 of the third and 11:12 of the fourth.
Cornwell threw for 194 yards connecting on 16-of-25 attempts and was picked off once. He shared the wealth connecting with 10 different receivers.
Samuel Zegler-Evans led all receivers with five catches,
Alex Griffeth and Medrano both had three.
Vershon Brooks led the rushing attack with 49 yards on 15 carries.
Brayden Daly was credited with 10 tackles, seven that were solo.
Geremiah Brown and
Tyler Ragan were next for the Norse with eight and six respectively.
One week from today Luther will hosts No. 4 Wartburg College for Homecoming. Kick-off is slated for 1:00 p.m.
