MENOMONIE, WIS. – The third all-time meeting between the two teams ends in scoreless 0-0 draw.
IT'S A DRAW
The Blue Devils jumped right out of the gate firing the first three shots of the game but from there the half was dominated by Luther. For the next fifteen minutes the Norse fired off shots from
Sammie Sabin (Mendota Heights, Minn./Visitation),
Maggie Haller (Minneapolis, Minn./DeLaSalle) and
Emma Lin (Des Moines, Iowa/Roosevelt). The Blue Devils were quick on the counter in the 22
nd minute but
Irelyn Baumberger (Evansville, Wis./Evansville) was there to make the stop. Luther had control of the possession for most of the half but at half time no goals were scored.
In the second half things didn't change with the Norse having a total of eleven shots in the half but none finding the back of the net. And
Irelyn Baumberger (Evansville, Wis./Evansville) came up with three big saves elevating the Norse defense. The best chance for Luther to score came with in the final seconds a corner kick was given.
Emma Lin (Des Moines, Iowa/Roosevelt) took the shot but, in the end, it was saved by Lily Shield of UW-Stout.
TOP NORSE
- Senior Irelyn Baumberger (Evansville, Wis./Evansville) protected the net with five save on the night.
