Luther and Central played the first of three games this afternoon in the valley. Central scored a run in the third and one in the fifth and defeated Luther 2-0.
Dutch hurler Declan O'Hare spread seven hits, walked one and struck out six in a complete game shutout. Colton DeRocher hit a solo home run over the right-center field fence in what proved to be the game winner in the third. The Dutch scored an unearned run in the fifth for the final run of the game.
Will Heithoff had two of Luther's seven hits.
Ryan Manternach pitched eight innings and walked two and struck out one.
The loss gives Luther an A-R-C record of 11-11, while Central improved to 4-18.
Tomorrow's double header will begin at Noon.
