LINCOLN, NEB. – The women's soccer team picked up their first road win of the season with a three-goal shutout of the Prairie Wolves.
 
SHUTOUT THE WOLVES
The women's soccer team came out determined for a win and put the pressure on early. In the 11^th minute Cassiah James (Evansville, Wis./Evansville) would drill it towards goal but it ricocheted off the post as Rose Sieve (Apple Valley, Minn./Rosemount) was right there waiting for it. Both teams had chances to score but the Norse would be on top of the home team heading into halftime.
 
Then a minute in eight seconds into the second half the Rose Sieve (Apple Valley, Minn./Rosemount) threaded it through to Maggie Haller (Minneapolis, Minn./DeLaSalle) who sent it low and through the center for a two-goal lead. A foul Nebraska Wesleyan gave the Norse a chance to set up a play. Kaylee Waterhouse (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/John F. Kennedy) sent it ahead as Maggie Haller quickly stopped faking out her defender and took the shot towards the near post for the final goal of the game. The Norse now sit in second in the A-R-C with 7 points and a conference record of 2-1-1. 

TOP NORSE

• Senior Rose Sieve (Apple Valley, Minn./Rosemount) scored the game winning goal for her fourth of the season and had one assist. 
• Junior Maggie Haller (Minneapolis, Minn./DeLaSalle) tallied two goals bringing her season total to eight. This is her third multi-goal game of the season.
• Senior Irelyn Baumberger (Evansville, Wis./Evansville) had her first clean sheet of the conference season. She also had one save in the first half.

Luther heads to play their final nonconference game of the season at UW-La Crosse in La Crosse, Wisconsin on Wednesday October 12^th. Kickoff is at 6:00 p.m. CT.
