WAVERLY, IOWA – The 7
th ranked Knights cruised to a 3-0 victory over the Norse.
FACING ONE OF THE BEST
It's hard to go into Waverly and knock off the Knights who haven't been beaten all season. The Norse tried their best to stay with the pace of the Knights. Wartburg would get the game winning goal in the 16
th minute with a low shot by Joy Smith. The fact that Luther held the Knights to only a one goal lead at the half was a testament to the defense. Goalkeeper
Ken Vavrichek (Bloomington, Minn./The Blake School) had two saves in the half.
Two minutes into the second half Wartburg found the back of the net for a second time with a goal from their leading goal scorer Kate Luers. Later in the 68
th minute came the game's final goal for Wartburg from Mya Jansen. The 7
th ranked Knights win 3-0.
TOP NORSE
- Junior Maggie Haller (Minneapolis, Minn./DeLaSalle) had three total shots with two on goal leading the offense for the Norse.
