The Coe College Kohawks could do nothing wrong offensively tonight as they defeated Luther by a final of 89-51 at Moray L. Eby Fieldhouse in Cedar Rapids. The Kohawks shot 54.7% for the night that included a 55.6% effort from behind the three-point line. The Kohawks also won the battle of the boards 34-23.
The Norse had a difficult first half shooting the basketball connecting on 31% of their attempts, but came back strong in the second frame shooting 56% that included a 5-of-7 effort from behind the arch.
Ben Gill paced the offensive attack with a season high 18 points.
Matthew Franzen was next with nine followed by
Daniel Webster with seven.
Coe was led by Jared Kruse who produce a double-double thanks to 28 points and 10 rebounds.
The loss gives Luther an A-R-C record of 2-6, 5-11 overall. Coe improved to 6-4, 14-5.
Luther travels to Buena Vista University this Saturday. Tip-off is Storm Lake will take place at 4:00 p.m.
