Preseason No. 5 Luther improved to 2-0 following an impressive 3-1 victory over Macalester College this afternoon in St. Paul, Minn.

Following a scoreless first half, Will Overberg scored the first of his two goals at 51:30 assisted by Faydane Ouro-Akondo. Marcos Vila (2) scored what proved to be the game winner at 84:41 also assisted by Ouro-Akondo. Overberg drove in his second goal unassisted after dribbling the ball towards the net from almost midfield. His shot found the lower right corner of the net at 85:18. Overberg has now scored four times this season.  Macalester scored its lone goal at 88:57.

Next week, Luther has three home matches scheduled. The first will be Monday, Sept. 6, when it will host Knox College at 5:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, the Norse host St. Norbert College at 5:30 p.m., and finish the week hosting preseason No. 25 Gustavus Adolphus College on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 3:00 p.m.
