Pre-season No. 5 Luther College kicked-off its 2021 campaign with a 4-1 home victory over Cornell College this evening. The Norse scored three goals in the first and one in the second en route to the victory.
Marcos Vila had a huge night scoring a goal and dishing out three assists. Vila scored what proved to be the game winner at 21:11 on a penalty kick. He assisted on the first goal of the match driving in by
William Valentine at 7:05, and both of
Will Overberg's goals at 21:27 and 56:48 respectively.
The Rams Mardoche Ntonku scored an unassisted goal at 82:16.
Luther returns to action this Saturday, Sept. 4 when it will travel to Macalester College for a 2:00 p.m. match.
The Norse return home on Monday, Sept. 6 and will host Knox College at 5:00 p.m.
