Luther was defeated by Texas Lutheran University 5-2 this evening in Whitewater, Wis., eliminating the Norse from the Whitewater Regional.
Luther scored both runs in the bottom of the first. The Norse started with three consecutive singles by
Cullen Stamp,
Luke Plunkett and
Kelby Johnson. Johnson's single scored Stamp.
Kyle Schnobrich grounded out to shortstop that scored Plunkett. The Norse were only able to get two more hits the rest of the game.
Aiden Michna had a single in the fourth and
Owen Vander Linden singled in the sixth.
Texas Lutheran scored three times in the second and once in both the fifth and eighth frames. All three runs in the second were unearned.
Luther ends its season with a record of 32-16. The Norse were making their sixth appearance in the NCAA III National Tournament and the second under the direction of Head Coach
Bryan Nikkel.
