Following 110 minutes of action tonight in the valley, Luther and Wartburg played to a 1-1 draw. The Knights were credited with 21 shots and the Norse had 18.
Carson Davenport played extremely well in front of the nets stopping 11 shots on goal, many at point-blank range.
Following a scoreless first half, Jack Palen gave the Knights a 1-0 lead scoring his 15th goal of the season at 58:13. Nine minutes later,
Ben Bolte, who had just entered the match, tied the score at 1-1 with a one-timer to the bottom left corner of the net off a cross pass from Faydan Ouro-Akondo.
During the overtime periods, Wartburg was credited with three shots, one on goal, and Luther had six shots, two on goal.
The tie gives Luther a final A-R-C regular season record of 4-1-3, 9-6-3 overall. Wartburg finished with a mark of 4-3-1, 7-6-3.
The A-R-C Six-Team Postseason Tournament begins this Saturday, Oct. 30. Following tonight's results across the league, these two teams will face each other here in Decorah on Saturday for a first round match. Luther is the No. 4 seed and Wartburg the No. 5 seed. The winner will advance to face the No. 1 seed University of Dubuque on Wednesday, Nov. 3. Start time for Saturday's match is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
