Joe Troche started as head coach of the Norse in 2023 as he took over the program on December 14th, 2021.
Prior to joining the Norse he served as recruiting coordinator and special teams coordinator at St. Olaf College from 2019-21.
He also coached at Hamline University for eight seasons from 2011-18. With the Pipers he coached safeties, linebackers and the defensive line. In his final two seasons at Hamline he was the defensive coordinator.
Troche started his collegiate coaching career at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire as a graduate assistant working with linebackers.
At St. Olaf he played four years, splitting his first three years as a linebacker and defensive end. In his senior season he shifted to running back.
He graduated from St. Olaf College with a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science in 2010 and received a Master of Arts in Education from Hamline University in 2018.
