Timmerman started as the head coach in April 2025. The 2025-26 season will be his first year at the helm.
Prior to joining the the Norse he has been coaching wrestling at St. Peter High School since 2012 for the Saints. He has helped grow the program, and has led the team to eight consecutive winning seasons.
A two-time NCAA All-American wrestler at St. Olaf College, Timmerman finished third at the NCAA Championships in 2011 and fourth in 2012. He holds the career record for wins and was the team captain for the Oles all four years.
He graduated with a bachelor’s in biology, and earned his master’s degree in environmental education from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
