Amanda Bailey enters her 15th year as head coach of the Luther College women's basketball team in 2025-26. Prior to being named head coach, she was Luther's top assistant for four years.
During her tenure, she has led the Norse to 11 consecutive appearances in the conference tournament advancing to the championship game four times and semifinals eight times. In 2015, she was named Conference Coach of the Year. During the 2015-16 season, she led the Norse to a conference championship, the eighth league title in school history and first since 2007. That same year, the Norse posted a record of 23-6, captured the conference tournament title and advanced to the second round of the NCAA III National Tournament.
She has coached 26 all-conference honorees, one that was named the conference MVP twice (Moran Lonning - 2015, 2016), one that was named Defensive Player of the Year three times (Laura Hamilton - 2018, 2019, 2020) and one that was named Rookie of the Year (Natalie Beaver 2025). Â
A 2005 graduate of the University Wisconsin-Stevens Point, she went on and received her masters in 2007 in General Education.Â
While playing for the Pointers, she was a two-time WBCA Kodak All-American, 2005 NCAA III National Player of the Year, three-times named first-team all-conference and twice was named WIAC Player of the Year. She completed her career as the Pointers all-time leading scorer with 1,801 points. She helped lead the Pointers to a record of 101-19 during her career and the 2002 NCAA III national championship and a fourth place finish in the national tournament in 2004. As a member of the Pointers track and field team, she was a four-time All-American in the shot put and once in the discus.
