DECORAH, Iowa – Maddie Shea joins the Luther men's and women's swimming and diving teams as an assistant coach and assistant aquatics director announced by head coach Aaron Zander on Monday.
 
"Maddie cares deeply about Luther Swimming and Diving and is incredibly passionate about our program," Zander said. "She has a champion-mindset, which she exhibited often as a Luther athlete and multi-time conference champion. Her experience with Riptide, one of the top club teams in Minnesota and the country, will be an asset for us. I'm excited to have her back at Luther to support and coach the next era of Norse student athletes."
 
A 2024 Luther grad, Shea was a four-year letter winner for the Norse. She was the Liberal Arts Championship Swimmer of the Meet in 2021 and was the champion in the 500 freestyle, 1650 freestyle, and 200 butterfly. Shea was also a 13-time American Rivers Conference all-conference honoree and a four-time conference champion.
 
She still ranks in the top-10 all-time in the 500 freestyle (9^th), 1000 freestyle (5^th), 1650 freestyle (6^th), and 200 butterfly (7^th).
