CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The American Rivers Conference announced the performers of the week on Monday.
Charles Running was named the baseball pitcher of the week and
Rhys Biro-Moore was the men's tennis performer of the week.
Running and the Luther baseball team swept Gustavus Adolphus College (7-3, 8-1) on Saturday, May 2. He pitched in second game of the doubleheader going five innings to get the win. He allowed one unearned run on one hit, did not issue a walk and struck out seven.
Biro-Moore helped the men's tennis team clinch the A-R-C tournament title for the 12
th time in program history. He won at no. 2 doubles with partner
Jake Nelson (6-1) to secure a point against Loras College in the semifinal. Then on Saturday, against Coe College in the championship he won at no. 5 singles clinching the match for the Norse (6-3, 6-3). The Norse head to play Rose-Hulman in the NCAA III National Tournament on Thursday, May 7.
