CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) announced the Performers of the Week with two Luther College athletes earning honors.
Raven Allen was named the softball position player of the week and
Juan Hernandez Herrera was the men's tennis performer of the week.
Over the spring break trip in Clermont, Fla. Allen went 11-20 at the plate with a .550 hitting percentage. She recorded 11 rbi and seven runs in the final six games of The Spring Games schedule. Allen became the 22
nd player in program history to score over 100 runs in her career which occurred against Union College on March 25. Then against Lawrence University two days later she became the 23
rd player in program history to record 150 plus hits.
Herrera and the men's tennis team was also on their spring break trip in Orlando, Fla. He won at no. 2 doubles with
Dikshan Chhikara defeating Tyler Garcia and Clayton Philley 6-3. Herrera won at no. 2 singles against Jake David of St. Lawrence University (6-3, 6-1) and won with
Geoffrey Stoughton at no. 3 doubles beating Charles Schepens and Bennett Stout 6-4. The Norse defeated Huntingdon (6-1) and St. Lawrence (5-2).
