WAVERLY, Iowa — The Luther women's basketball season came to a close after falling to Wartburg 61-45 in the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Tournament Semifinal.
The Knights held the Norse to 16 points while scoring 29 of their own for the advantage going into halftime.
Luther fared better in the final two frames with a shooting percentage of 40.7 from the floor (11-27) but they couldn't erase the deficit.
The Knights scored 42 points in the paint, 32 points were contributed by the bench and 21 were scored off turnovers.
The Luther offense was led by
Haylie Strum with 14 points followed by
Abigail Panka with 12 points and team leading seven rebounds. The Norse finish the season 13-14 overall and 8-8 in conference action.
Wartburg is now 20-6 overall and will advance to the A-R-C tournament championship on Saturday, Feb. 28 where they will take on no. 2 seed Coe.
